Service and Application Engineer

Here at Aberlink Ltd we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Service and Application Engineer to support our expanding range of innovative metrology products throughout the UK. Ideally based out of our head office in Stroud, Gloucestershire. This role will be varied, challenging and comes with significant responsibilities, these include: calibration, service, Diagnostics and repair of our range of CMMs, as well as applications support and software training for end users. Other less frequent activities required of this role could include: assisting with the set up and break down of exhibitions, and performing demonstrations of our CMM's to potential customers. If it appeals to you, then overseas travel is available supporting foreign distributors.

As you can imagine, due to the nature of this role it isn't a 9-5 position, so a flexible attitude to your working hours is essential. A company vehicle will be provided, a full driving licence will be required. You will also need good communication skills to create the right impression as the face of Aberlink.

Because of the niche field we work in, previous experience of CMMs isn’t expected as all necessary training will be given, however a good understanding of mechanical engineering and the ability to problem solve is essential.

Marketing Coordinator

Aberlink Ltd is bringing its marketing in-house, and we are looking for the person who will run it.

We are a manufacturer of precision measurement solutions covering all sectors of engineering, from F1, motorsport and aerospace to general sub con machining. We make almost all of our machine in house in the Cotswold hills and distribute them around the world.

This is a hands-on role, not a desk job and not a management one. You will not be briefing an agency or managing a team. You will be on site with a camera capturing the journeys of our machines. You will run our channels, our newsletters and our website yourself.

If you are the person your friends ask to take the photo, and you already understand why one post lands and another does not, we want to hear from you.

Real ownership. This is our marketing, and it will be yours to run.

What you will be doing

Social media and content

• Own our social channels day to day, including planning, posting and scheduling.
• Shoot and edit photography and video on site and at customer's factorys.
• Build a content calendar around what is actually happening: new machine launches, exhibitions, new stock, events, seasons.
• Reply to comments and messages, and build a real relationship with the people who follow us.
• Grow our following and, more importantly, turn it into visits and sales.
• Keep an eye on what is working, and tell us plainly what is not.

Press, influencers and events

• Handle local and national press, and build those relationships.
• Manage influencer and content creator visits from first approach to what goes live.
• Promote exhibitions and events.
• Be there at the events themselves, camera in hand.

Email and customer database

• Write and send Aberlink's newsletter.
• Run a full media campaign around our exhibitions.
• Track what people open, click and buy.
• Help to improve our SEO.
• And probably more, role to be discussed and agreed.

What we are looking for

• Someone genuinely immersed in social media, who understands Instagram, tik tok and linkedin as a user.
• Evidence you can do it. A personal account, a side project, a previous employer's channels, a portfolio. We care about what you have made, not where you studied.
• Confidence shooting and editing photo and video, with a good eye for composition and light.
• Writing that sounds like a person, not a brand.
• Organised and self-directed. You will eventually be setting your own week.
• An interest in Engineering generally and the influence it has across every day life.
• A full driving licence and your own transport.
• Marketing experience is welcome. A marketing degree is not required. If you can show us work you are proud of, apply.

Salary: £26,000 plus per year pro rata, depending on experience

CNC Lathe Setter/Operator Manager

We're looking to hire an experienced CNC lathe setter and operator to join our expanding machine shop.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Set and operate two CNC lathes running Fanuc controllers.
• Inspect parts using our own latest CMM inspection equipment.
• Experience in setting / operating lathes with a Y axis and sub spindle while not essential, would definitely be preferable.
• The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage their own time and workload.
• A knowledge of Fusion 360 or Solidworks CAD/CAM would be a real advantage.
• The ideal person in this position would likely move onto a management role within our machine shop.

• Inspect parts using our own latest CMM equipment.
• The ideal candidate will have the ability to manage their own time and workload.
• The ability to program parts with either Fusion 360 or Solidworks CAD/CAM would be a real advantage.
